A little bit of life lately:

Guys. I feel like the weeks fly by. Weeks turn into months in what seems to be the blink of an eye. Parker is almost 10 months old. I can't believe I've had a baby for 10 months! He's coming up a year so, so fast. Things have been so busy- like, where did this summer go? Poof! It was gone. We had such a great summer- we went to Hawaii (Parker did so great on this trip!), we went to the mountains to celebrate Kelsey's wedding, I had quite a few photoshoots booked. It was fun! Tom started school in September, I handed in my resignation at my Social work job so that  I can be home full time with Parker. I've really tried to focus on building up my photography business so it can be our supplementary income while I stay home. My other friend Katie got married. Ashley turned 30! Life has been fun. Busy but fun. This blog is like my journal so it's nice to find a moment and just write. I find if I don't write things down I easily forget stuff.

Here's a few highlights from our Hawaii trip!

We came to Maui on our "baby moon" last summer when I was 20 weeks pregnant with Parker. It was so special to bring him back here with us. It was a surreal moment knowing last time we were here, he was in my belly! How crazy!

Parker did so good on the flights to Hawaii. We only had 1 layover, which was super nice. You can change his bum, get his bottles ready, get a bite to eat. They were good breaks. All the flight attendants loved him, and he barely cried on any of the flights! I was so proud of him. He was 7 months so he was just learning how to crawl... so he was mobile, but not so much so that he would fight us in the airplane. He snuggled up, played with his toys, napped. He was a champ. Seriously. I remember getting to Maui and looking at tom and being like, "that was the least stressful flight I think I've ever been on!" I think people are just extra kind and extra accommodating when you're traveling with kids. that was our experience anyways!

My parents were gems and watched Parker for a day so that Tom and I could do the Road to Hana. We loved it and Tom was SO GOOD at driving that windy road!!! I kept telling him how impressed I was with him. I got car sick a few times (typical) but it was a really good day. We hiked the bamboo forest!

Ahhh. My favorite beach. This is up on the west side of the island- the beach here is so perfect for kids. It has a rock "wall" so it creates a beautiful tide pool- so perfect for kids to play in the water. There's always turtles here. Theres bathrooms and a playground on the beach. I mean, what more do you need?!?! This was one of my favourite days in Maui.

Parker loves the swing!!!

We went on another Lavender farm tour. Tom was super excited for this because Tom's biggest hobby is gardening. They also have the best lavender lemonade and scones here. Yummy!! And, of course, I had to wear parker in my lavender sling while at the lavender farm. It only made sense!!

Kelsey's Wedding!!!
Kelsey got married this summer in Kananaskis. My goodness was it ever beautiful! She, and her family, made lots of the decor and the rest of it she was super thrifty and got super good deals! Kelsey has also started her own wedding planning business so she was a pro when it came time to do her own! Everything was BEAUTIFUL. On the Friday before the wedding the bridesmaids all went on a hike, and it was absolutely stunning you guys. I was definitely the slowest one in the pack. I was like. Dying. On the way up. But Kelsey and Amy were so sweet and they waited for me to get my butt up that mountain. Coming down was so much easier. I'll say that. I could actually breath on the way down. Hahahaha. I guess I need to work out more???? I keep using the excuse: "Well, I just had a baby." But that excuse is now 10 months old. So. I'm going to have to look for another excuse. But it was awesome. Then we headed back to the campsite where Kelsey's dad made us a wonderful dinner. Tom and I camped in our SUV while Tom's parents watched Parker for the weekend. Saturday we helped Kels set up and Sunday was the big day!! The weather was beautiful. Super hot. Like plus 30 hot. But her day was beautiful. I just have to share some of these images because I absolutely love every single image! Can we all just take a moment and appreciate how beautifully all these purple bridesmaid dresses came together?!?! Kelsey was going for a purple ombre look, and we were kind of nervous at first but it came together FLAWLESSLY. Love!!  Photography by: Candice M. Photography

Ashley's 30th Birthday!!!
Ashley turned 30 this September and that is a BIG birthday! It's an important one and I was determined to do something nice to celebrate. My original plan was to have a surprise birthday party for her. So me, and her husband Reid, started planning. We had the day, the food, the guests all picked out. But then, Ashley started talking to me about her birthday. I would always try to dodge the conversation because I am SO bad at surprises and I knew I would let something slip. But then I felt bad because she was probably like "why does she keep ignoring me and my birthday???" LOL!!! So then, Ashley just started planning her own party! Ashley is just like me and is a planner. We like to plan things and have everything under control. So then I was like. CRAP! She's planning her own party! She's gonna have everything ready to go and then we will be like, *just kidding!* we are hosting you one?!! So I talked to Reid and I was like. Reid. We just gotta tell her. So we told her. And she started laughing and goes. "OHHH! THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE. I WAS WONDERING WHY REID WAS BEING SO SECRETIVE."  Lol!!!!! So. Ashley knew we were throwing her a party and she could just sit back and relax and be surprised when she showed up. Now. Ashley has changed my style world. She's like a magical fairy that makes everything in this world beautiful. So I was determined to make this party beautiful, to reflect what she loves. Here's some photos I took from her birthday celebrations!!

So me and Reid had messaged 30 of Ashley's family and friends and asked them to submit a paragraph about their: 1.) Favorite thing about Ashley and/or 2.) their favorite memory with Ashley. I then complied all these memories, printed them out, and hung them from 30 balloons that filled the room when Ashley walked in. It was so fun for me to collect all these memories from 30 people who love Ashley. Each one gave me a little bit more insight into who this woman really is. And she is awesome. And amazing. And I'm so glad she came to this earth 30 years ago and that she somehow stumbled into my life!!!! But! I was collecting these memories and I had messaged Ashley's sister-in law to submit something. She happily did, and then she goes... "wait, are you throwing her a party? Me and my mom want to come." And I was like YES!!!!! So, they drove 6 hours and came for her birthday. They surprised her the day before at work. She had literally zero clue they were coming. I'm glad one thing ended up being a surprise for her!

Ahhh. So! I had lots of help putting this thing together. Vanessa made the beautiful cake. I custom ordered the cake toper from Love Plus Designs, she's a local maker here in Edmonton. My schedule was so crazy busy that week as I was planning for another friends wedding, so I picked up the cake topper from her house at midnight. She was so accommodating to my crazy schedule! Reid made the white "A" and me and Bethany went shopping for decor. I knew I wanted succulents to be the theme because Ashley loves all greenery and one day she wants a "farm house" so I thought all of the decor she could eventually use in her house one day! Ashley made macaroons... for her own party. And they were amazing. Like. Absolutely amazing. They were SO good. Oh! Reid also made the cake stand. I had gone crazy one night on pinterest trying to help me pick a theme. And it all came together perfectly. I was so grateful for everyones help for making this vision come to life! I was so happy to have my home filled with all these wonderful people. OH! and, all the guests brought warm soups and fresh bread to share. It was so perfect.

Katie's Wedding!!!
Tis' the season to be Jolly, all my friends are getting married, falalalalala. Me and Katie met in Social Work school. I remember looking around the room and being like. She looks super nice. And then we ended up being in some groups together where I was like. Yup. I like her. She IS really nice. And then we just instantly became friends. We would walk from Whyte Ave to the U of A together like every day. Contemplating life, classes, practicums, the future, work, school. We would talk about Tom and Ian. It was just the best. I was so grateful to have this girl by my side. She helped me so much more than I think she knows. She was my sounding board. She was my study buddy. She was my go to presenter buddy for group projects. I just love you! I also love how we've maintained our friendship since graduating. In fact, it's only gotten stronger. I was so honoured to be part of her beautiful day. Since I was in the wedding party, I wasn't taking pictures. I helped Katie find her amazing photographer, Kyra Jasman Photography. But I did take some pictures of her getting ready and from the reception. Katie looked SO gorgeous I just had to share!!!!

Well!! Those are our most recent adventures. It's been a blast! I guess it's true when they say time flies when you're having fun.   :)

Parker's Birth Story:

December 4, 2016:
A day that changed our lives in the most wonderful way ever. Welcome to the world, Parker James Pasterfield.

My baby is practically 5 months old. That's almost HALF A FLIPPIN' YEAR. How did that even happen!?!? How has he been out of my belly that long? It is unreal how fast the time goes. It is unreal how fast babies change and grow. Literally. You blink. and BOOM. Life changes. "Sixty seconds now feels more like thirty, tick-tock, won't stop, and round it goes. Sand through the glass sure falls in a hurry and all you keep trying to do is slow it down, soak it in, keep trying to make the good times last as long as you can, but you can't- cause it goes too fast, way too fast." - Luke Bryan.

I really wish I would've written this out earlier, when the memories were still fresh in my mind, but I'll try to recap as best as I can. I mean, it was a pretty monumental moment in my life so I feel like it's pretty engrained in my mind. But! Here we go! So, at 38 weeks pregnant I went for my check up, where my doctor told me I was almost 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. He did the sweep and told me that if it were to work, I would go into labour in the next couple of days. So crazy. So that appointment was a Wednesday night. Fast forward to Saturday. I was feeling fine. Tom and I went to a lovely Christmas party, and got home around 10:30 ish? I was in bed by about 11 pm, and woke up an hour later to go pee. I thought. How annoying. But when I woke up my body felt different. I don't even know how to explain it. I just remember sitting there being like. "Am I going into labour?" I literally sat there for an hour trying to figure out what my body was doing, and texting my mother in-law who thank goodness was still awake at that hour. Finally at about 1 am, I go back to bed and wake up Tom. I was like, "Tom, I think we might be having a baby in the next 72 hours." And Tom is so sweet and is like, "wow, that's really lovely, honey. We should probably try to catch some rest. Come back to bed." and I'm all: "Yeah Tom, but I don't think I can sleep. I think we might have a baby in the next 48 hours." Still, Tom was convinced we needed to go back to bed. My response then turned into "Tom, I think we might have a BABY in the next 24 hours." And Tom was like. Huh. That's cool. So. Hear me out. Those of you who know me well will not be surprised to know that it was my goal to have my hair and make up done for labour and delivery. What a surprise, right? So. There we are, 1:30 am, and I'm like. Tom! Dang nabbit! If I'm having this baby and we have to go to the hospital in the middle of the night I WANT TO SHOWER. At this point, I had no pain and no contractions. My body just felt WEIRD. Like, a lot of pressure in my lower regions. So. I crank the shower on, full heat, and hop in. About half way through that shower, it was VERY clear I was in labour. I started getting contractions that were flooring me. I stayed in that shower for a long time. We also went to prenatal classes where they teach you deep breathing/massage and relaxation techniques and things your partner can help you do during labour. So Tom was super sweet and trying to help coach me through it and practice everything we learned. He's the best. I finally hobbled out of the shower and I immediately called my mom saying, "Mom, I think I'm in labour." That's really all I had to say and she said, "Okay, I'm on my way to Edmonton." So, at 3:00 am, my mom hopped in the Mome Su and came to Edmonton.

After hanging up the phone with my mom, I was convinced I needed to get my make up done. Well. I was standing at my counter, trying to put on my make up. But the contractions came on STRONG and FAST. I was still kind of in denial that I was even in labour. I mean, this baby wasn't supposed to come for another 2 weeks! But the contractions literally took my breath away and made me fall to my knees in pain. What a crazy experience. So, I'm doing my make up, in agony, and Tom calls the hospital (our doctor told us to call labour and delivery when we thought we were in labour). Tom thought, "This is something I can do! I can call the hospital!" So he calls, and he goes "Hello. My name is Thomas. My wife is in labour." Bahahahahahahaha. I love him. They go, "Okay, put your wife on the phone." He hands the phone to me and I slightly glare and take the phone. They ask me how long and far apart my contractions are. I'm like. Lady! I have no idea! Who knew it would be so difficult to time contractions? (at this point it was around 3:30 am). The nurse continues to ask me, "How long have you been in labour?" I was like. "I don't know! My body started feeling weird around 1 am, and contractions started around 2 am." So, the nurse advised me that, especially since it's my first baby, I likely will labour for a long time and to just stay home and labour at home as long as possible until the contractions are "unbearable." In my mind I'm like- THESE ARE UNBEARABLE. But, Tom and I had no idea what we were doing or what to expect.

After we got off the phone with the hospital, I really wanted to do my hair. I had successfully gotten my make up done. But my hair was still soaking wet as I lay naked on the bathroom floor moaning in pain. My mom gets to our place around 4:30 am. She goes "JENNIFER JEAN GET YOURSELF TOGETHER WE ARE GOING TO THE HOSPITAL!!" And I'm all like, "Mom, they told me to labour at home." She goes. "Jenny. I've had 4 babies. They also told me to stay home. If I would've stayed home, you kids would've been born in the bathtub. GET SOME CLOTHES ON. We're going!!!" Tom always says that labour felt real to him when my mom was coming to Edmonton. He was like, if Grandma Parkins is coming to Edmonton, this means serious business. So. Anyways. My mom grabs a nighty, pulls it over my head, Tom grabs the hospital bag, and I put on a head band, my silver sparkly Toms, and off we go. Picture this. It's 4:45 am in the morning in the beginning of December in Canada. It's freezing. My hair is wet. My make up is done. I'm a huge whale. I'M IN A NIGHTY THAT IS MUCH TOO SHORT CAUSE MY BELLY IS HUGE, I have silver sequin shoes on. I refuse to wear my winter coat cuz I'm too hot. My goodness. #hotmess. There was obviously no traffic, so my mom was speeding to get me to the hospital cause guys these contractions seriously were taking their toll on me. I think I said very strange things like, "holy guacamole. holy bananas. Sweet mother." Things along those lines. My mom also wanted to run red lights, but I was there in the back all like, "MOM!!! DON'T RUN THE LIGHTS!" So, she didn't run any red lights, but she did speed. And got a photo radar ticket. So silly. But. Mom drops me and Tom off at emergency. I waddle into emerg at almost 5 am in the morning. I rest my head on the glass, and the nurse goes, "baby time?" I just look at her and nod. She quickly gets me a wheelchair, where another nurse wheels me up to labour and delivery, while Tom fills out all the paperwork.

They immediately put me on the toilet and started taking off all my clothes (well, I only had a nighty on. So that was pretty easy.) While on the toilet, I lost my MP, and they got me in that beautiful hospital gown, and into the hospital bed. They checked me, and told me I was close to 7 cm dilated. They said if this were my second baby, I likely would've had the baby at home. I had no idea. Everyone told us that with our first baby we would likely go to the hospital TOO early and be sent home. Anyway.  I immediately started begging for an epidural. I had heard that sometimes if you're too far along in your labour they won't give you an epidural, so I was trying to make it clear that I really wanted one, ASAP. At about 5:30 am the anesthesiologist came in, and was fantastic, and gave me the epidural. People scared me beforehand saying it would hurt, but honestly I think I was in so much pain from my contractions (the nurses kept telling me to breathe, but it was really hard to breathe through those things), that I was SO focused on getting that epidural in for some sweet relief. I honestly don't remember any pain while getting the epidural. Maybe like a pinch and pressure, but that was it. Within 5-10 minutes I felt SO MUCH BETTER. Oh my word that epidural was my BEST FRIEND. Seriously. BEST FRIEND. I could finally calm down and RELAX. I actually really started to enjoy my labour now! And I was getting so excited to meet my sweet babe. I had unreal nurses, seriously so amazing. They took such good care of me. Answered all of my questions and gave me time with my family. It was really nice. It was cool to be hooked up to the machine and hear baby's heartbeat and see my contractions. It was interesting, because with the epidural I thought I wouldn't be able to feel anything, but I could still feel my contractions - but they were manageable. They felt like. You know when you do squats, and a lot of them, and your butt muscles burn? That's what every contraction felt for me. Like I had done 1000 squats. It was so weird. So. At this point I also hadn't slept. I had been up since midnight. I tried to catch some sleep but I was just too excited/anxious I couldn't. Tom got me ice chips, we chatted, weird things with my body happened, my water broke, nurses checked on me, I texted my family/friends/work that baby was coming today, and the time actually FLEW by.

I loved just chilling in the bed knowing I would meet my baby that day. The coolest feeling. I was so curious when we would meet him, or when I would start pushing. The nurses weren't really telling me anything, so I had no idea how long we had to wait this out. They kept telling me I would start pushing when I felt a deep pressure, and had an urge to push (the nurses told me it would feel like I needed to poo, haha). I finally had that feeling, and told my nurse. They were quickly trying to get my doctor there, and I knew baby was coming soon. My doctor literally walked into the room, put on his gown, and immediately got me to start pushing. I felt so caught off guard like, "WHAT, WAIT, WE ARE DOING THIS NOW? WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME!! GAHH!!" The nurse quickly instructed me how to push, and so there I am, pulling back my legs hanging on for dear life and trying to push as hard as I could with each contraction. I started pushing at 11:30 am. I had three "sets" of pushing with each contraction. Baby came fast. Tom said, "Jenny! I can see his head!!" Parker James Pasterfield was born thirteen minutes later, December 4, 2016 @ 11:43 am, weighting 7 pounds 13 oz | 21" long. Thomas and I knew the minute we found out we were having a boy that we would name him Parker. We decided on Parker because my maiden name is Parkins, so that's kind of a cool way to honour my side of the family- and back when Tom and I had been dating for like, a week, we for some reason talked about baby names and somehow decided we liked the name Parker. So back when I was 19, and Tom was 23, we had decided what the name of our firstborn would be. Hahaha. So funny. Such sweet memories.

They immediately plopped Parker onto my chest. Thomas was bawling. I was in shock, and awe. I looked up at my husband, then down at my baby and I started bawling. I couldn't believe we created this beautiful human together and that after all this waiting, he was here with us. It was honestly such a spiritual experience. I was proud of me and my husband for working together, I was proud of my body for sustaining this baby and being the conduit for him to come to this earth, and I was seriously in awe that we had a baby. Parker was pretty blue so they had to take him off of me and clear out his airways and lungs, but once they did that he was good. The nurse helped me get him latched for the first time and try to breastfeed. I had literally zero clue what I was doing, I didn't even know how to hold my baby. Hahaha #new mom reality. Once me and Tom had some time with Parker, we had my parents, Tom's parents, and my brother Jordan there at the hospital. We were moved to the postpartum unit where we continued to get to know our little baby. Parker was so so so calm that first week. TIP TO ALL MOTHERS - make sure you pack a flipping pony tail to the hospital. I didn't have one. and I was going crazy. They kept us in the hospital for 1 night, and we were discharged December 5 around 1:00 in the afternoon. Dressing a newborn baby is serious business, you guys. Tom and I were trying to dress Parker and I felt like we were going to break him! It was scary. And getting him in the carseat? This little squish! Looking back on all these memories, I just laugh. Such newbs. Parker had just been living in my womb for 9 months and his skin was peeling and cracking like crazy. Poor boy. He was born the week that we got our first cold freeze in December too, so we were paranoid about keeping him warm. He was so little. It was only 5 months ago but he was so, so little.

I absolutely loved all the hair he had when he was born! And he would always hold his hands  together and have them up by his face. I have to think he must've always done that in the womb. He is such a sweet little baby. Tom and I feel honoured to be his parents. He has taught us SO much in these past 5 months. He's taught me what true service looks like, and that at the end of the day, family is one of the most important things we have in this life. And that we need to work everyday at creating meaningful moments with the people around us. I'm far from a perfect parent, and I pray to God everyday for strength, and to help me know how to be the best mom to Parker that day, cause heaven knows I can't do this motherhood thing on my own.

"I talk to God about you, and I ain't even met you yet. Everybody's waiting on you here. I can't wait to feel your heart beat when I lay you on my chest. I'm already holding back my tears. I wanna be the mom that my mom was, I hope I don't mess this whole thing up. I pray you love like your daddy, and that you forgive just like he does. And when this life knocks you down, I hope you get down on your knees, cause that's what I do, when I pray for you. I know you're gonna grow up some day, but don't forget to take your time, and take the time to call back home. It ain't always gonna be easy, it ain't always gonna be fair. I know you ain't always gonna need me, but I promise that I'll always be there. When this life knocks you down, I hope you get down on your knees, cause that's what I do, when I pray for you."

Bumpdate- Weeks 37 & 38:

GUYS!!! I haven't updated this blog since NOVEMBER 2016. NOVEMBER!!! It is now APRIL 2017. I guess it goes to show how you have a baby and suddenly it seems like you have no time for anything anymore. Hahaha. Just kidding. You do have time for things! Life just becomes busy (And I thought I was busy before being a mom. Well. In my fairness I think I was busy! It's just a different kind of busy). Now I end up typing blog posts late at night when the baby is passed out. Holy moly guacamole has our life changed since my last blog post. So, I last posted up until week 36. I took 4 weeks off of work prior to my due date because, for my personality, I wanted to be ready for this baby and I wanted time to mentally transition to being home, preparing for motherhood, etc. Also, the thought of possibly going into labour while at work terrified me. So! My last day in the office was November 18 or something like that (due date was Dec 13). I absolutely loved my decision to take a few weeks off (and I'm feeling lucky I did because Parker came 2 weeks early!) I took the time to clean my house, finish the nursery, pack my hospital bag, make freezer meals, help my mom decorate her house for Christmas, and just enjoy SLEEPING IN (heaven knows I needed it because I was NOT sleeping at night). The last few weeks of my pregnancy I could not sleep at ALL. I think a mixture of it was being SO large and uncomfortable, having to pee all the time, and then just the anticipation of baby arriving. I seriously wouldn't sleep though. There were nights I would go to bed at 11 pm and stare at the clock until drifting off somewhere around 4 am. That wasn't fun. But!

Bump dates. Week 37.

So- week 37. This was a fun week. I was off work, I finished the nursery, packed my diaper bag. I really loved this stage of pregnancy. Its like the last 9 months were totally worth it and you're nearing the end. I get so many emotions just typing this. Pregnancy was such a magical time for me, I really enjoyed it (except the first 14 weeks. Those were ROUGH). I just felt the stress of "real life" was off my shoulders- I didn't have the responsibility of work, clients, etc. My focus was solely on my growing family. And it was so nice. My friend Ashley also helped me make a bazillion freezer meals. We split it up into 2 events. 1 day we went grocery shopping at Costco, and then the next day we tackled making the meals. I am SO grateful. I am doing this for every baby. And if anyone is pregnant and reading this.. MAKE FREEZER MEALS. They SAVED my life. We made so many! And they FED MY FAMILY FOR THREE MONTHS. I had dinner ready to go for THREE months because of the 2 days we invested in getting them ready. When people ask me: "what advice would you give a new mom?" It is.. do yourself a favour and MAKE FLIPPING FREEZER MEALS. I am so so so grateful for Ashley and that she helped me make them. Without her help and motivation I'm not sure I would've tackled it on my own. Ashley said her Relief Society president helped her with freezer meals, and she felt she had to pay it forward. I now feel that same ownership because they were seriously SO helpful. Have I said enough times how much I enjoyed my freezer meals? Seriously, incredible. But, do yourself a favor. BUY PRE-CUT SQUASH. Cutting squash. Is miserable. Just saying. My mom also bought us a stroller this week! I really wanted the City Select stroller (lots of my friends said to get this one). So I had been searching Kijiji for a used one, because to buy them brand new is expensiveeeeee. I found a lady in Calgary who was selling one that was in basically brand new condition for such a good price. My auntie Barb was an angel and picked it up for us, and guys- I LOVE IT. I had Parker in December and so this stroller is a beast and managed the snow and mud so, so well. It also has the BEST basket underneath so I can take it grocery shopping and I don't need a cart cause so much fits underneath. I absolutely love it. Thanks mom & dad!

Week 38

I went to my doctor and he checked me and I was 2 cm dilated and like 80% effaced or something? Don't ask me what that means, all I know is it has something to do with my cervix ripening (WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?) or something, and prepping for this baby to come out of me. So my doctor asked me if I wanted to be "swept" (ask your mom what it means, I'm not telling you). Lots of my gf's said it sped up their labour, and at this point in my pregnancy all I wanted was to meet my baby. So I said YES SIR! Sweep that membrane! It was highly uncomfortable and then my doctor said if it were to work, I would go into labour within the next couple days. The thought of going into labour seemed so surreal. I know I'm pregnant, but now this baby has to COME OUT OF ME? And I'll finally meet this precious human that I had been growing for the past 9 months? Amazing.

When I walked out of my doctor's appointment there were FIREWORKS.
I have no idea why or what was going on that merited fireworks at the beginning
of December. But hey. I thought it deserved a picture.
After my doctor did the membrane sweep I was determined to get this baby out of me. So I went on Pinterest and searched "natural ways to induce labour." I found many ideas, and one of them were Labour inducing cookies (They're basically a really spicy gingersnap cookie... you literally add Cayenne Pepper to the cookie batter). They were yummy!

I also bought pineapple, and ate a whole bunch of it as I heard that is supposed to start contractions. I also read these other smoothies and things you could make using dates that was also supposed to help.. but I didn't get a chance to try those because I WENT INTO LABOUR AT 38 WEEKS! I had the sweep on a Wednesday night, and late Saturday night/Sunday morning I went in labour. So. Who knows if any of these things actually helped or if thats just when Parker decided he was coming. But was so funny because Ashley and Reid were hosting a Christmas party on December 3, and the big joke was "I'll be there if i'm not going into labour." So we went to their house for the Christmas party- and I felt fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. We got back around 10:30 pm and I was in bed by 11 pm. Then... dun dun dun.. LABOUR BEGINS. Parker was kind enough to wait and let me go to the Walter's Christmas party. What a nice and thoughtful boy. Even in the womb. ANYWAYS! I was so behind on this blog that I wanted to take the time to sit down and update it before these memories start to fade! This blog is a mini journal for me and I'm happy to share it with family and friends who might be in the slight bit interested in the happenings of my family's little life. I'm going to blog our Birth Story next, but that's for another night. I'm slowly but surely getting caught up. G'night world. xoxo - Jenny
